TF V1-05 Ultra by Flora Lechner & Tim Teven
The “TF V1-05 Ultra Dust” set features a trash can, a hand dustpan, and a hand brush, all made from pressed tubular steel and laser-cut sheet steel, which are then powder-coated. Designer Tim Teven, using a technical and material driven approach in his works, developed a technique that allows square tubes to be extremely deformed, as seen in the vertical supports of the trash can. Designer Flora Manon Lechner, following an interdisciplinary approach combining sculpture, design and moving image, adds a complementary contrast with her design language, which focuses on two-dimensional surfaces joined to create objects with a silhouette-like appearance. This approach is particularly noticeable in the hand brush. The exaggerated silhouette and generous use of materials elevate these everyday objects to the status of true lifestyle icons.
Flora Lechner is a designer from Vienna, Austria, currently based in the Netherlands. Her work blends sculpture, design, and moving images with an interdisciplinary approach. She explores the utility and handling suggested by objects and materials, often disrupting, repurposing, or exaggerating these ideas to highlight their absurdities. By playing with conventions of form and material, she challenges reality and imagination while maintaining a humorous perspective. Lechner views her works as small stages or potential spaces for action, engaging with the idea of activation and ghostly stasis.
Tim Teven, a Dutch designer, graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2018. His technical, material-driven approach and hands-on working style allow for experimental creation. In many works, the production process shapes both the design and function. By treating materials unconventionally, he discovers surprising techniques that result in functional yet intriguing objects. Teven works from his Eindhoven-based studio, founded in 2018, where all objects are handmade with industrial craftsmanship.
The object weighs approximately 7 kg and has the following dimensions: 40 x 50 x 38 cm.
