Soft tower is a standing tower light piece designed by Dogtooth; made of a tubular frosted glass lightbulb, vibrated aluminium plates and natural transparent latex. Inspired by nature use of spikes or hooks as a way not only to repulse but to attach.
Like a bur who uses hooks or teeth to propagate itself by using animals. The latex is free to be played with, stretching it on the arms or letting it free to move in the wind.
Produced in Brussels, the light is 97cm tall and has a 38cm diameter, the lightbulb is dimmable.
The aluminium shapes are drawn by accidents; pictures of broken objects. The repetition of the drawing thanks to laser cutting brings an aesthetical paradox. 8 arms are arrayed around three disks on which the latex cover is draped on.

Based in Brussels, Belgium, DogtoothTM is a collaborative practice that works between collectible design and art exhibitions. Started in 2022 by Anton W.V. Ripon and Tony Tao Li in Eindhoven, the studio is now led by Anton W.V. Ripon inviting a multitude of designers for each project.

Each piece is hand-assembled in Brussels, Belgium by the designer. The aluminum is laser-cut and surface-treated through vibration polishing in the studio. The latex and electrical components are carefully sourced from selected suppliers.
