Found Footage Vase #1 by Anton Rahlwes
This vase is part of the Found Footage II series by Anton Rahlwes. The series is process-oriented, drawing inspiration from discarded materials, which are first transformed into plaster and then into ceramic objects. This vase’s shape was derived from a piece of styrofoam originally used for packaging. Like all pieces in the Found Footage II series, it was created using trash found in Berlin and is entirely hand-made. The inside of the vase is glazed, making it watertight. The plaster mold is not included in the price.
Anton Rahlwes is a trained product designer and works as journalist, curator, and ceramic artist. He is also the co-founder of the thing Magazine and the thing Gallery. His work explores the intersections between objects and humans, delving into the many layers of their relationships.
