Dog Walks by Tina Roeder
From May to October 2024, designer and curator Tina Roeder embarked on a series of 12 dog walks—and one cat walk—with cross-disciplinary professionals from the fields of art, architecture, and design. What began as conversations about dogs and daily routines soon evolved into deeper discussions, touching on themes of connection, social structures, and the impact of modern life. In an era shaped by (un)social media and the relentless pace of contemporary society—forces that often strain the bond between human and non-human animals—Roeder’s project, DOG WALKS, offers a reflective space for meaningful dialogue. This unique conversation format, now documented in book form, builds upon CONCEPTUAL CONVERSATIONS, an extended talk series and ongoing curated program initiated by Roeder. Both formats trace their roots to CONCEPTUAL SUBSTANCE, a curatorial project and group exhibition presented at Eternithaus during Gallery Weekend Berlin in 2023—originally conceived in Berlin in 2009.
Tina Roeder is a designer and curator based in Berlin, having previously lived and studied in London and Eindhoven. Her work focuses on transdisciplinary conceptual practice in art, design, and architecture.
